In an alternate universe, four friends find themselves missing something...something that they simply cannot place, a sort of nostalgia for something that never was. In order to find this, one of the friends invents a trans-dimensional time machine to find that thing. Through a series of events, they find that what their universe is missing is the phenomenon of Gilligan's Island, that well-loved television program. Because this was never aired, a chain of events was set off, and that led to the unfulfilled people of that universe.
Using the trans-dimensional time machine, the friends find themselves at the filming of a television pilot in their own universe, a show called "Skipper's Travels," an adventure show set on the sea. In this pilot, a three-hour tour goes awry, and the passengers are stranded on an island, but, thanks to the ingenious work of a man named Gilligan, the passengers arrive home safely at the end. The pilot is a bomb, and no network will pick it up. After this devastating blow, Sherwood Schwartz falls into a tailspin of despair and never creates anything again. Upon seeing these events, our time-travelling friends decide to change the pilot to the original ending, rename it Gilligan's Island, and save their universe!
Using the latest in computer technology, the characters in this film will interact with the original cast members of Gilligan’s Island through old clips, digital renderings, and more.
...greatest...movie...ever...
